Calusa Musicale is an active, vibrant music organization committed to supporting music and the arts through excellence and service! Founded in 1977 by Clara Blood, Eleanor Morgan and Betty Turon, Calusa has remained steadfast in her commitment to encourage the youth of Southwest Florida in their musical endeavors.
Monthly programs of music and information are a special part of what Calusa Musicale is all about. From October through May, we provide a wide variety of offerings which are open to the public at no charge. You might find everything from informative programs on music therapy or opera, to a performance of great piano literature or upbeat high school chorus music. Each program features one of our Junior Clubs, allowing students the opportunity to perform before our organization.
We are deeply committed to encouraging young people throughout Southwest Florida! We currently offer several scholarship opportunities, including the Clara Blood Scholarship Auditions, the Eleanor Morgan scholarship at Edison Colllege in Fort Myers, and the Junior Festival Concerto Scholarships. Additional scholarship opportunities are currently being formulated for strings and sacred music.
Calusa Musicale proudly sponsors the Junior Festival held in February of each year. Students are given the opportunity to perform before a panel of judges for ratings and comments. This is a non-competitive event, providing each student an outstanding venue for performance and evaluation.
